Is there a way to watch a movie that i downloaded from blockbuster app on my htc evo into my tv?

I have trouble trying to figure out how to watch it on my tv, even
though i plugged my hdmi cable to my evo and tv. I tried watching my
personnel pictures  videos and it does work fine but cant seem to
watch the movie. The movie works fine in my phone but wont transfer
over to my tv even with the hdmi cable.
