Singer Beryl Davis dies
British-born large band singer Beryl Davis, who made her U.S. debut on Bob Hope's radio show after which completed with Frank Sinatra and Benny Goodman, died Friday in La of complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was 87. Davis was daughter of British band leader Harry Davis. Throughout World war ii, she sang with Stephane Grappelli and pianist George Shearing in the group that completed london clubs with the Blitz. She sang with Glenn Miller's Military Air Pressure Band near to the finish in the war. After Hope's radio show, Beryl Davis came out with Sinatra round the "Your Hit Parade" radio show.
